So you want to go on track (Nova Scotia Edition)
Whether your interested in lapping, time attack, autoslalom, racing, rallying and more we have curated a guide to get you on your feet!
Lets start with the basics!
Your journey towards going on track as beginner starts with a registration to a local club! For example Halifax's closest club would be ASCC or Atlantic Sports Car Club. Head to their registration page to register and pay a club member fee (usually good per annum). Once registered you can reach out to that club to begin your on track journey and get your self on a high performance driving school! Once you've set your eyes on on scheduled event don't hesitate to go on over to ARMS or the Atlantic Region Motor Sports INC. They are the Governing Body of Amateur Motor Sport Within Atlantic Canada and who you will reach out to register a on track membership pending your qualifications upon completion of your High Performance Driving School debut!
Let compress that into corresponding bullets:
- Register to a annual club membership for lapping, autoslalom, time attack, racing: ASCC , BAC(rally& race)
- Reach out to the committee you registered with and inquire about your goals on track! (lapping, autoslalom, racing, rallying, time attack)
- Once organized with a High Performance Driving School get ready to brief your self on key safety aspects such as proper helmets&gear
- With license on the way (pending qualification) head on over to ARMS (this link is attached to their documents page where in you can open a pdf labeled: timeattack/lapping license)
- Once you've qualified and got you ARMS license with the required qualifications you can now go through your clubs pages/forums and ARMS bulletins to schedule yourself to more track time and potentially lead up to a Racing license!
